User Reaction
First time users of the phone were not able to find the holder as highlighted in translucent white above. They tried to consult the user manual and spent a long time trying to find it but to no avail. The users were disappointed with their new Sony Ericsson phone as they thought that the holder was not included on the phone. They also started to make comparisons to Nokia phones, which had the holders on easier to find places.
Reflection on Product
A handphone strap was included in the package together with the phone, which meant that there is a holder on the phone. Upon closer observation, the holder was actually located behind the battery cover. I felt that it was a bad place to place the holder as it was very inconvenient for the user to open the battery cover to gain access to the holder everytime they wanted to change their handphone strap. There were also no clear indications as to where the holder was situated, which lead to the frustration of the users.
Sony Ericsson responded to the consumer feedbacks they have gotten and eventually placed the holder in a more convenient area in their later models after the K700i.
